Life Transitions
Objects can have powerful roles within our lives helping to sooth anxiety, helping to navigate relations with the outside world, and are often imbued with significance beyond their own basic functionality.
The act of making deepens that meaning and connection, offering a meditative space for mindful reflection.

Working with tactile objects can provide a sense of grounding during stressful periods. Holding different textures and shapes can redirect your thoughts and calm your mind.
I made my Halibut Jumper while imagining a new life by the sea in Margate, during a time of divorce and redundancy. The act of making became a form of grounding—a way to process uncertainty and shape hope through my hands. Stitch by stitch, the jumper held space for both loss and possibility, transforming difficult emotions into something tangible, warm, and alive. Working in this way reminds us that creativity can be a quiet form of navigation—charting a course through transition toward renewal.
The process of pouring molten metal into the earth becomes a ritual of intention—melding the permanence of metal with the shifting, impermanent nature of sand. Each cast object carries traces of the landscape and the moment of creation, anchoring hopes for what is to come while honouring the uncertainty of transition.
A handmade leather case designed to hold small finds and personal objects becomes more than a container—it transforms into a mobile altar, a space for quiet contemplation wherever you go. Each chosen object, gathered with care, carries its own story and energy. Together, they form a portable sanctuary—an evolving reminder to pause, reflect, and stay connected to what is meaningful amid movement and change.
The Covid Amulet was created as a symbolic gesture of protection and remembrance during a time of collective vulnerability. Formed through processes of containment and care, it embodies the tension between fragility and resilience. The amulet holds the imprint of an extraordinary moment in history—one marked by isolation, fear, and adaptation—while also offering a sense of grounding and hope. Like a modern talisman, it reminds us of the power of making as a way to transform anxiety into meaning, and to carry forward what we have learned through touch, time, and endurance.
